As soon as you start talking about eugenics, people want to know what traits you are breeding for, which are you selecting for, and which are you selecting against. People assume you want to have only one or a few types of people and eliminate the rest. Beyondism and Reform Beyondism seek to diversify the human race into many types of separate, unique gene pools and their associated cultures. We want a library of genetic-cultural experiments for evolution to choose from to determine the best genes and practices for human survival and progress. How will this be accomplished?
How do you breed for diversity? In Raymond Cattell’s theory, the original Beyondism, nations like Finland and Thailand would try to keep their populations homogeneous by restricting immigration and so as to keep separate breeding pools and cultures. Reform Beyondism finds this plan to be too difficult at this time and also believes this version of diversification is not enough, the human race can be more diversified more quickly using other methods that would produce more granular results. Instead of trying to restrict entire nations, Reform Beyondists encourage Beyondist principles be accepted by governments which would then allow citizens to form semi-autonomous compound nation-states where a specific cluster of genes with an associated culture could be incubated for observation. Instead of working with entire ethno-states, we suggest that people separate out by family groups, which can be made large with practical polygamous practices. A carefully guided incestuous breeding program can create finer breed types than simply relying on a national breeding pool. Family cultures expanded by polygamy and honed by scientifically guided incestuous breeding would create more granular genetic-cultural experiments than in Cattell’s version.
So how are breeding pairs selected? First, Reform Beyondism communities called Sibling Covens are allowed to be formed around any combination of genetic and cultural principles, such as a coven for East Asian Confucians. Any group with a particular desired ethnic group and culture can form a sibling coven to engage in an ethno-cultural experiment supported by other Reform Beyondists through the participation and approval of the Parent Coven. In this way individuals select their community based on genetic and cultural similarity and so like breeds with like based upon association based upon certain criteria.
But Reform Beyondism goes beyond this and seeks to create subraces. What do we mean by this? Anthony M. Ludovici was a eugenicist who advocated for the pairing of “like with like”, meaning that people with similar physiology and mental types should be bred together. For this reason, he also supported incest. When we allow people to associate and breed with their own kind we are breeding “like with like”, but this can go so much deeper. What Reform Beyondists must do is create lists of all the physical, mental, emotional, and social characteristics a person can have so that everyone can be characterized. Once people are characterized, those with the most similarities in common can be mated together (through artificial insemination if no sexual attraction) so as to create subraces with highly acute leanings and tendencies. So if someone is tall, athletic, and measures as an ENTP on the Myers-Briggs scale, we should breed them with someone with the same metrics. There would be thousands of these metrics to line up, though some crosses could be made on only a few similar metrics to produce a type of offspring with honed abilities. In this way we breed like with like to varying degrees to get subraces. In this way we are breeding for certain types of people.
However, if this is to be done properly, it will take at least some people living in arrangements different from traditional parenting. Normally a man and woman procreate because they are married monogamously and produce offspring with no particular breeding strategy. Reform Beyondists do not wish to see these arrangements disappear but do ask that those who are capable of doing so live in a different way. First we are asking those who are capable of it to breed not based on love, lust, or culturally arranged marriage but based on metrics and statistics, DNA testing and genetic counseling. Breeding programs may not be monogamous, breeders may seek to gain different clusters from the same person and so unions would be necessary with more than one person. This means mixed and blended families.
While this contribution to the human race is desirable, it is also difficult. Once children are born they need to be raised properly. In traditional parenting the children are raised by a single couple, a mother and a father who are supposed to be faithful to each other, it is that simple. But when you add in breeding not based on love but metrics and multiple mating partners, this gets complicated. Reform Beyondism does not say you can’t breed the simple way, but the Parent Coven does have plans for a much more work-intensive but beneficial program. This involves group parenting and arcology.
Arcology mixes the word architecture with ecology, and an arcology must be developed for semi-communal living and group parenting. In Reform Beyondism it is very necessary to spend time with your parents, to know them is to know yourself, and they are vital aspects of cultural transmission. However, at least in this program, the parents may not live together in the same house. Children need time with both parents, and so they would need to live very close to one another. Child care broken up between two homes or more (as individuals may have children from more than one person) would be stressing and taxing. The family would need a community close by to help with child rearing. Such a community would need close living quarters to one another and would need communal spaces to help with child care.
The best way to accomplish this is to create our own communities where we can arrange the arcology as we please. This would include individual housing for families and single members, but it would surround a community property and buildings for partial communal child rearing. Children would get the best of all worlds, two parents whom they can live with and see often, but also communal child care that relieves parents of too much stress, making them better parents. Children get a nuclear family and an extended community in synergy. Reform Beyondists call on architects to build such special communities where such programs can take place. No one is forced to live this lifestyle, it is simply one of our projects for genetic diversity and race creation. Once established subraces are created, crossbreeding can take place. Until such time as communal parenting is possible, all Reform Beyondists are encouraged to still breed in the way that works best for them, and monogamy is not to be destroyed or discounted.
